In recent years, remarkable achievements have been made in Chinese construction industry, new materials, new technologies, new construction methods, new ideas and new designs have been evolving. But within construction and decoration industry, fasteners industry, also known as "rice of the industrial", have been neglected for a long time, which is seriously detaining construction and decoration industry from further development, and in certain circumstances, even life safety is severely jeopardized.
In most of construction fields including steel structure construction metal enclosure system, doors and windows, guardrail, canopy installation, light steel structure, air conditioning and ventilation, decorative partition and others, low-grade carbon steel fasteners are still widely used. According to "Civil Building Design General Rule (Trial)" in China, these belong to class-four level with a durability of 15 years, so they only apply to temporary buildings. Even if we only pay little attention, incidents including rusty roof, loosened or rusty doors and windows, loosened door handles or door locks, fallen or blown-up partition or ceiling, collapsed or fallen large ventilation pipe in a lot of buildings completed within less than 10 years. Therefore, a lot of manpower and resources have to be invested for replacement and maintenance in the follow-up property management. It goes over and over again, which brings a lot of inconvenience and huge loss, and even life-threatening danger to general public's work and life.
In fact, fastener not only bear the basic functions of main body of buildings together with it, it also needs to fit into temperature, UV, vibration, environmental corrosion, load, alternating stress, anti-shearing, anti-torsion and other tests as a connection between components in building or decoration. It often resides at the most critical connection location, receiving a much harsher impact comparing with degree of impact to main parts of the building.
For common functions of self-drilling tapping screws and tapping screws, any surface treatment, such as plating or coating, can only provide limited protection, the only way to improve usage life of fastener with such functions is enhancing corrosion resistance of the material itself. In addition, stainless steel fasteners are generally preferred in most cases in order to maximize the value of the building itself and longevity of life, so their outstanding mechanical properties and excellent corrosion resistance can meet almost all the current requirements of most construction areas. Therefore, we eagerly call on everyone's attention to realize that although fasteners are low in value and small in volume, yet it plays a vital role in the area of construction.
